Professional #associations can change your life, have you experienced a good one?
In 2012, after 5 years of active real estate practice, I made a #CareerTransition, from being an estate surveyor and valuer, to a teacher and communications guru. Real estate was promising, but I simply loved to teach people and write a lot. #Teaching and #writing gave me deep joy, so I went all out to get trained. The journey to fulfilment has been long and arduous but fulfilling.
I finally clinched the PhD in December 2021, but that’s not what this post is about. This post is about the #power and #potential of a good professional community.
As part of my Integrate-Invade-Influence-Impact strategy, one of my 2022 goals was to join relevant professional associations. So, I applied for and joined the International Association of Business Communicators #iabc , then Nigeria Institute of Public Relations #NIPR. Friends, that’s one the best decisions I made towards growing my career in communications. The International networking, resources and shared interest group sessions are simply the best. We also have the West Africa wing of IABC , WIABC too. They are a collection of well-placed practicing and very experienced communication experts spread across various industries in #WestAfrica.
